2009 Walk/Run/Ride Event Report

The 8th Annual Second Wind Fund of Metro DenverWalk/Run/Ride event on September 20, 2009 was once again the largest suicide prevention event in the nation with 3,200 people on hand.  Together, our walkers, runners, bikers, pledgers, corporate sponsors, faith partners, and civic partners raised $220,000, ensuring that no youth in the Denver Metro area will be turned away for services during the 2009-2010 school year.

While we were sad to leave Green Mountain Presbyterian Church and Green Mountain High School, our event sites for previous walk/run/rides, the move to Jefferson County Fairgrounds proved to be an exciting change.  The feedback received about the course, location, and overall feel of the event was overwhelmingly positive.  We are excited to continue to grow our event with the 9th Annual walk/run/ride which will be held at Jeffco Fairgrounds on September 19, 2010.

Thank you to the nearly 400 volunteers who spent countless hours promoting the event calculating each minute detail for event to guarantee a positive experience for all our participants, and a special thank you to Paula Colorosa, 2009 Volunteer of the Year.

Thank you to our 2009 Corporate Sponsors
