The mission of Second Wind Fund of Metro Denver (SWFMD) is to decrease the incidence of teen suicide by removing financial and social barriers to treatment for at-risk youth.

2011 5k Music Festival Attended by Thousands
The 10th Annual Second Wind Fund of Metro Denver5k Music Festival on September 18, 2011 was once again the largest suicide prevention event in the nation with 3,000 people on hand. Our teen suicide prevention message was heard by people from each corner of the Denver Metro area and we proved to kids across the city that we are dedicated to saving their lives. In fact, the money raised at this event will be used to provide therapy services to hundreds of youth at-risk for suicide this school year from more than 300 schools!

Douglas County
Douglas County youth are now served by Second Wind Fund of Metro Denver (www.swfmd.org). SWFMD has been receiving referrals for youth at-risk for suicide since 2002 and has served nearly 2,300 local youth. SWFMD currently serves the youth in the counties of Adams, Arapahoe, Broomfield, Denver, Grand, Jefferson, and Park and is now happy to include Douglas and Elbert counties.
