Youth We Are Helping

This 13 year old girl told one of her teachers yesterday that she has been thinking of suicide. She has no current plan, although in the past she has had a plan to slit her wrists. She is extremely stressed right now, as her Mom was just laid off. Additionally, depression runs in the family. Her primary care doctor recommended that she see a therapist, but the family never followed through. Family would have a hard time paying the co-pay for therapy considering their recent change in finances. No Medicaid
